Responding When It Matters Most

Over 25 years of supporting the people of Armenia and Artsakh

For over two decades, the Tufenkian Foundation has stood alongside the people of Artsakh and Armenia during some of the most difficult periods of this country’s history.

Throughout this period, we have supported more than 5,000 individuals, with efforts spanning housing, healthcare, education, nutrition, and essential assistance.

When the 2020 war displaced thousands, and the ethnic cleansing of September 2023 forced the remaining Armenian population from their ancestral homeland, we expanded our humanitarian program further — providing food, essentials, and urgent support to displaced families across Armenia.

We also used the few remaining months in Artsakh to contribute to cultural preservation efforts, helping create invaluable archives of Armenian cultural heritage in Artsakh.

Since 2024, our focus has shifted toward long-term recovery. We believe that displaced Artsakhtsis deserve not just relief, but roots — a chance to rebuild their lives with dignity. In the Syunik province of Armenia, we are renovating and constructing homes, creating economic opportunities, and supporting families in building stable, thriving lives in their new communities.

Our work is guided by three commitments: resettlement, development, and resilience — because lasting recovery is built not in weeks, but in years.
