Origins
The Foundation
The story starts in 1999, with our founder James Tufenkian, an entrepreneur who spent over a decade using business to advance social justice around the world. When he turned his attention to Armenia, he saw that the hardships people faced ran deeper than market solutions could reach. The Tufenkian Foundation is his response. For 25 years, we have been working alongside Armenian communities — developing innovative programs that create tangible, lasting change where it is needed most.
