Strengthening Armenian Civil Society

A strong Armenia relies on a robust and healthy civil society

From day one, the Tufenkian Foundation has been dedicated to civil society development in Armenia.

Over the years, we have designed and implemented a wide range of programs addressing the issues that matter most to Armenian communities — from combating poverty and expanding access to education, to protecting the environment and advancing social justice. Our work has consistently sought to renew and strengthen the national, civic, and cultural values that bind communities together, while fostering a culture of human rights, accountability, and active citizenship.

We believe that a vibrant civil society is not a luxury — it is the foundation of a resilient, democratic, and self-determined Armenia. That belief shapes everything we do: supporting grassroots organisations finding their voice, equipping young leaders with the tools to engage their communities, and building the institutional capacity that allows civil society to hold power to account and drive lasting change from within.

That’s why we support a wide range of civil society organisations and initiatives, from pilgrimages to Tatev Monastery, to our beneficiary organisations, the Family and Community NGO and the Mining Legislation Reform Institute.
